This park was a Florida Day Tripper's dream. Just outside of the gate to the park you can find a Visitor's Center with lots of information. Walk a bit more and you find the ruins of a 1920's Spring fed bath. (Area that was concreted in connected to the Suwanee River that is spring fed cold and crystal clear waters. However now the water is dark because the river is allowed to fill it.) Then you enter the park itself. The museum is a history buffs dream filled with artifacts. The history of Stephen Foster and the culture his music produced. I personally found the craftsmanship of the museums dioramas to be especially interesting. The tower rang out every hour filling the air with music. There is also a folk art "village" where you can take classes sometimes, visit and speak with crafters of all types. A gift shop is on the property as well. We didn't camp there but I did see rather large cabins, trails and kayak rentals.

I have only gone for the Christmas lights at nighttime. Pretty cool experience if you have children. I felt it was a little lackluster purely for adults.

The campground is well maintained with nice pads. The mountain bike trail in the park is challenging, and there are 30+ miles of trails in town that are well maintained and great fun. And the Suwannee River offers sublime kayaking, away from everything. There are 5 cabins at the park that are the best deal of all, with a/c and a wrap around porch and two bedrooms.

Nice Rangers, very helpful. Cabins could use a more cleaning. Don't care for their 11 month policy before booking.

Rangers are friendly and provide access to a great Florida State Park. Hang around on the hour and listen to the carillon chime. Check out the museum at the base of the tower. Special events throughout the year.
